Personification is the attribution of human qualities or features to something which is otherwise non-human, or inanimate. For example, if an author were to describe the wind as ‘howling’ or a tree as ‘stooping’, this would constitute personification. Personification ultimately serves to bring a certain object or thing to life, as though it were a living and breathing human organism with emotions, thoughts, and opinions.
