Chapter 5

“She was late for work every morning and excused herself by saying that she had overslept, and she complained of mysterious pains, although her appetite was excellent.” The equal workloads distributed to the animals on the farm doesn’t sit well with Mollie. We can see that she is one of the few animals who have been disadvantaged or unchanged by the rebellion. Her excuses reveal an unwillingness to adhere to a new lifestyle where she is unable in indulge in lavish human items such as sugar and ribbons.
