The Creature, though he is never formally given a name, cannot be categorised into the normal taxonomic schemes devised by humans in an attempt to understand the order of nature, because he is a contradiction: a living thing comprised of dead parts. This unnatural existence means that mankind, who fail to understand and accept him, view the Creature as ‘the Other,’ labelling him:
