Bentley Drummle is an unpleasant young man, heir to a baronetcy, who Pip encounters whilst being tutored at the Pockets’ House. He is depicted by Dickens as a detestable brute and exhibits a prevailing sense of arrogance and superiority which causes him to patronise Pip and the other characters around him.
