Thematic analysis

Doing the research before reading the novel would already have given you a decent idea of the thematic concerns. Themes are super important for a holistic understanding of the text, but a lot of the time, students rely solely on thematic analysis to get high marks in their responses. While you can still do really well, it’s harder to differentiate yourself from the cohort if you’re only discussing the same points most other students are writing about. And you want to stand out as much as possible so the markers will take interest in your essay and can easily see that you’ve thoroughly understood the text and its complexity.
