What is a thesis?

The thesis of your response is the overarching main idea of your entire essay, and it’s generally the first or second line of your introduction depending on how you choose to format it. If you’re new to this idea, don’t be worried! We’ve all come across them in the introductions we’ve read, though some theses are more complex than others.
