Ekwefi

Ekwefi (pronounced Ek-weh-fee) is Okonkwo’s second wife who he married after she ran away from a previous relationship. She has had ten children but only Ezinma, who she cherishes, has survived past childhood. This has led her to maintain contact with village spiritual leaders and medical practitioners out of fear she may lose her only child once more.
