  • Anaerobic means without oxygen.
  • Suitable conditions for biogas production can be created inside purpose-built biogas generators.
  • Inside these generators, organic matter is broken down by microorganisms in anaerobic conditions, producing methane gas.
  • Methane produced in this way is referred to as biogas.
  • Biogas can be used as a fuel to transfer energy.
  • Uses of biogas include providing power, heat, or fuel for transport.
  • Biogas is considered renewable because it can be produced from plant matter.
