Plant Cuttings
- Plant cuttings are an old and simple method used by gardeners.
- This method involves producing many identical new plants from a parent plant.
- A stem is cut from the original plant, known as the cutting.
- The cutting is planted in compost to grow new roots and develop into a new plant.
- The new plant is a clone of the original plant.
- This method cannot produce many clones at once.
- Limitation: Only a limited number of cuttings can be taken before the original plant dies.
- Other methods may be able to produce more clones simultaneously.
