Abiotic - Gases
- The concentration of different gases is an abiotic factor affecting living organism communities.
- Carbon dioxide levels are crucial for plant photosynthesis.
- Carbon dioxide must be available in the atmosphere and water for terrestrial and aquatic plants, respectively.
- Oxygen is also essential, required in sufficient quantities in both the atmosphere and water for the respiration of land and aquatic organisms.
- All organisms, including plants, animals, and microorganisms, need sufficient oxygen for respiration to transfer energy for living processes.
