Meristem Tissue
- Me stems are regions of tissue containing undifferentiated stem cells.
- The term "STEM" refers to the start of something, not the stem of a plant.
- These cells can rapidly divide and differentiate into required cell types, facilitating plant growth.
- Me stem cells in mes stem tissue can become any type of plant cell throughout the plant's life.
- Examples of cells they can differentiate into include root hair cells, guard cells, or palisade cells.
- Mes stem tissue is crucial for plant growth and is found in the roots and shoots.
- This tissue is located at the growing tips of shoots and roots in plants.
