Pollution
- Pollution harms the environment and reduces biodiversity.
- It is a slow process that eventually kills plants and animals.
- Pollution occurs on land from sources like plastic waste escaping landfills and toxic chemicals being released.
- Air pollution includes particulates from smoke and carbon from burning fossil fuels or car exhausts.
- Airborne pollution also involves acidic gases like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide, leading to acidic rain.
- Water pollution sources include sewage, runoff of fertilizers from farms, and toxic chemicals from factories, affecting rivers, lakes, and seas.
