Fred

Fred is Scrooge’s nephew. He is initially introduced to the reader when he enters Scrooge’s countinghouse. Though Scrooge treats him with bitterness and dislike, Fred is nevertheless fond of his uncle, not taking his criticisms and complaints to heart. Whilst Scrooge declares that Christmas is a “humbug,” Fred views it in an entirely positive light, exaltingthe generosity and integrity it evokes.
