Character Analysis

Mollie

Mollie is introduced to audiences as a “foolish, pretty white mare.” Her nar- cissistic personality is shown through her desires for materialistic items such as ribbons. She is a rather anachronistic character, in that she prioritises her individualistic values over her comrades’ endeavours for freedom against Jones. During the Battle of Cowshed, she is nowhere to be seen, and is eventually found hiding in her stall. After the Rebellion, Mollie deserts the farm and is last seen with another farmer, decked in ribbons and eating sugar.
