Scene-by-Scene Analysis

Act 4 Scene 3

Hamlet and Claudius finally meet in the castle, but Hamlet refuses to give Claudius any straight answers about the death of Polonius. Hamlet says that Polonius is “at supper. . . not where he eats, but where he is eaten,” implying that Polonius is buried and being eaten by worms.
