About the genre

For some reason, the term ‘non-fiction’ seems to have a bad rep, often seen as the ‘boring one’ compared to fiction. While there are many non-fiction texts out there whose authors are more concerned with communicating raw facts than engaging readers, we are going to be dealing primarily with texts that are designed to draw us in and keep us there. These kinds of texts, in my opinion, can be far and away more fascinating than fiction, because we’re learning about real things in our very own world that we may never have considered.
