The text itself is also a palpably important feature. You often see it in the form of a dialogue. The dialogue is important for numerous reasons: firstly, it can provide exposition. Because playwrights don’t have the liberty to transition between the past and the present like filmmakers, dialogue can offer the audience greater understanding regarding the situation prior to start of the play.
