Scene-by-Scene Analysis

Act 3 Scene 2

In this scene of just seven lines, Othello tells Iago to give some letters to the navigator before they go for a walk to inspect the fort. This merely serves to hint to readers that while Othello is engaging in military matters, Cassio is offstage pleading his case to Desdemona, and this implied action will contribute to much of the development in the next scene, and the rest of this Act.
