Character Analysis

Boy and Girl

These are the two children of Clarence who only appear in Act 2 Scene 2. They serve to illustrate how deceptive and manipulative Richard can be by demonstrating how Richard made them believe that he is a “good uncle” and that Edward IV and Elizabeth were to blame for their father’s death. This is evident when they state that they have no sympathy for Elizabeth as she weeps for Edward IV’s death, believing her to be responsible for the death of their father.
