  • The probability of two mutually exclusive events happening is equal to the sum of their individual probabilities.
  • The formula for calculating the probability of A or B (mutually exclusive events) is P(A) + P(B).
  • The total number of outcomes for mutually exclusive events is the sum of the outcomes for the individual events.
  • The probability is derived by dividing the number of successful outcomes by the total number of possible outcomes.
  • Examples are given for calculating the probability of getting a specific item from a treasure chest and drawing specific cards from a deck.
