  • Even if measurements are the same, different directions mean different displacements, highlighting the difference between scalars and vectors.
  • Key scalars include distance, speed, energy, mass, and temperature.
  • Key vectors include displacement, velocity, acceleration, forces, and momentum.
  • Velocity is the vector equivalent of speed, indicating movement in a particular direction.
  • Acceleration measures how velocity changes and also requires a direction.
  • Forces, which change the motion of an object, and momentum, the product of mass and velocity, both require direction specification.
