Arithmetic operators

These are used to perform mathematical calculations on numerical data and are essential for algorithms involving totals, averages, or counters

Operator	Name	Example	Result
+	Addition	3 + 2	5
-	Subtraction	5 - 3	2
*	Multiplication	4 * 2	8
/	Division	10 / 2	5
MOD	Modulus (remainder)	10 MOD 3	1
DIV	Quotient (whole number division, no remainders returned)	10 DIV 3	3
^	Exponentiation	2 ^ 3	8

In Python:
- MOD is written as % (e.g. 10 % 3)
- DIV is written as // (e.g. 10 // 3)
- ^ is written as ** (e.g. 2 ** 3)
