    • Small geographic area (homes, schools, small businesses) 
    • Owned and managed by the organisation 
    • Can be wired, wireless, or both
  • WAN (Wide Area Network): 
    • Large geographic area (e.g. different cities or countries) 
    • Used by multinational companies 
    • The internet is the largest WAN 
    • Telecom companies usually own the infrastructure
