Circular motion (HT ONLY)

  • When an object travels in a circle:
    • It is travelling at a constant speed.
    • The direction it is travelling in is constantly changing.
    • As a result, its velocity is constantly changing.
  • Examples of objects that travel in circles are satellites in orbit, cars travelling around bends, planes banking to change direction, and fairground rides, such as Ferris Wheels.
