Love is the dominating theme of the play, mostly because it is the thing that connects the very different sets of characters in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Every single character is subjected to the chaos of love – even the Mechanicals who not only had to temporarily cancel their play because of Titania’s love for Bottom, but also staged a play at a wedding about the lengths to which people go for love.
