BIDMAS
- BIDMAS is an acronym that helps remember the order of operations in maths
- BIDMAS stands for Brackets, Indices, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction
- Division and multiplication can be done in the same step, as well as addition and subtraction
- Example: 10 - 20 divided by 5 = 6
- Example: 2 times 3 squared plus 6 minus 6 = 24
- Example: Add brackets to make 30 - 20 divided by 2 + 3 = 23
- Putting brackets around the division gives the correct answer
