Calculating Equations of Straight Lines
- The equation of a straight line is y = mx + c, where m is the gradient and c is the y-intercept.
- The gradient can be found using the formula m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1), where (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) are the coordinates of two points on the line.
- To find the y-intercept, determine the point where the line crosses the y-axis.
- Examples are given to practice finding the equation of a straight line.
- The equation can be confirmed by substituting values and checking if they lie on the line.
