Comparing Two Values as a Percentage
- A number can be written as a percentage of another number
- Percentage can be found by converting the proportion from a decimal or fraction
- Decimal method: divide the wanted quantity by the total available amount, then multiply by 100
- Fraction method: scale the fraction so that the denominator is 100
- Example 1: Find 100 as a percentage of 64 using the decimal method
- Example 2: Calculate Jason's score as a percentage (45 out of 75) using the fraction method
