  • Two triangles are congruent if they satisfy one of four sets of conditions: SSS, SAS, ASA, and RHS.
  • SSS condition: If all three sides of two triangles are the same length, the triangles are congruent.
  • SAS condition: If two sides and the included angle of two triangles are the same, the triangles are congruent.
  • ASA condition: If two angles and the included side of two triangles are the same, the triangles are congruent.
  • RHS condition: If two right angle triangles have the same hypotenuse and one other side, the triangles are congruent.
  • In an example, the ASA condition is used to determine congruence between two triangles.
  • The missing angle in the example is calculated by subtracting the known angles from 180 degrees.
  • Both triangles in the example satisfy the ASA condition and are therefore congruent.
