- To convert a measurement from prefixed units to non-prefixed units, multiply the measurement by the value that the prefix represents.
- To convert prefixed units to other prefixed units, take into account both prefixes.
- One meter is 0.001 kilometers.
- One kilogram is 1000 grams.
- To convert 50 millimeters to kilometers, first convert to meters by multiplying by 1/1000, then divide by 1000 to get the answer in kilometers.
- It's important to check your calculation by considering if the final value should be larger or smaller than the initial value.
