Dividing Algebraic Fractions
- Algebraic fractions can be divided in a similar way to normal fractions
- To divide two fractions, change the division symbol to a multiplication symbol and flip the second fraction
- Factorize the numerator or denominator before multiplying to make it easier and reduce the chances of making a mistake
- Example: simplify X/5y divided by x/y = (X/5y) * (y/x) = 6x/5y^2
- Example involving factorization: simplify (x+3)/15 divided by (x^2+3x)/25 = (x+3)/15 * 25/(x(x+3)) = 5/3x
