Spec N8 A4
  • The square root of A divided by the square root of B is equal to the square root of A divided by B
  • Example: square root of 10 divided by the square root of 2 is equal to the square root of 10 divided by 2
  • Simplify fully the square root of 60 divided by the square root of 5
  • Rewrite using the third rule for division: square root of 60 divided by 5 is equal to the square root of 12
  • Rewrite the square root of 12 as a product involving a square number: square root of 12 is equal to the square root of 4 times 3
  • Evaluate the root of a square number to get the answer: square root of 4 is 2, so the answer is 2 root 3
  • When dividing one third with a coefficient by another, divide the coefficients and the numbers in the square root
  • Example: 2 root 3 divided by 4 root 5 is equal to 2 divided by 4 times the square root of 3 divided by 5
