Exact Trigonometric Values
- Trigonometric functions for angles of 30 degrees and 60 degrees can be written in terms of simple roots
- To find the length of the missing third side of a right angle triangle, use Pythagoras theorem
- Trigonometric ratios can be applied to the angles in the triangle to find their exact values
- Sine theta is opposite over hypotenuse, cos theta is adjacent over hypotenuse, and tan theta is opposite over adjacent
- Trigonometric values are exact for any size of triangle
- The same process can be applied for an angle of 45 degrees using an isosceles right angle triangle
- Sine, cos, and tan of 0 and 90 degrees have specific values (0, 1, 0 and 1, 0, undefined respectively)
- Knowing the exact trig values can be useful for remembering the values
