General Area of a Triangle
- The area of a triangle can be calculated without knowing the height
- The formula for the area of a triangle is a half base times height
- If the height is unknown, the formula can be a half times AB sine C
- AB and C represent the sides and angle of the triangle
- The formula is derived from a right angle triangle with a given angle C
- The formula can be simplified to a half base times height
- The formula is a half times AB sine C
- An example is given to practice using the formula
- The area of the scalene triangle in the example is 30 centimeters squared
