Horizontal Graph Translations
- Adding a constant to the input of a function will cause the graph of the function to move left or right.
- The graph of the function f(x+a) is the graph of the function f(x), with each point translated by the vector -a.
- Vectors are used to describe horizontal and vertical movement.
- Moving the graph to the right is represented by subtracting from the inputs of the function.
- Moving the graph to the left is represented by adding to the inputs of the function.
- The value of a can be determined by comparing the original graph to the translated graph.
