Spec A4
  • Algebraic fractions involve algebraic symbols
  • Simplifying algebraic fractions is similar to simplifying normal fractions
  • To simplify, divide the numerator and denominator by their highest common factor (HCF)
  • Example: Simplify 4m^2/2m by dividing by 2m
  • Example: Simplify 5y^4/10y^2 by dividing by 5y^2
  • Example: Simplify -3xy^3/9x^2y^2 by dividing by 3xy^2
