Introduction to Sequences
- A sequence is an ordered set of numbers that follows a pattern or rule
- A term is a number in a sequence
- A term to term rule describes how to find the next term in a sequence by using the previous term
- Most sequences can be written knowing only the first term and the term to term rule
- Some sequences are easier to determine using an nth term rule
- To find the next term in a sequence, compare terms to deduce the term to term rule and apply the rule to the last given term
- Practice helps in spotting patterns in sequences
- Write out all the terms neatly in exams
