3:16 Using and Interpreting Straight Line Graphs
Spec A9
  • The equation of a line can be found from knowing two points on the line
  • The gradient of a line is equal to (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
  • The general equation of a straight line is y = mx + c
  • To find the equation of a line, use the coordinates of the two points in the formula
  • Use the gradient and one coordinate to calculate the y-intercept (c)
