  • A common multiple is a number that appears in both multiplication tables of two numbers
  • The lowest common multiple (LCM) is the smallest number that is a multiple of both numbers
  • The LCM can be found by multiplying the two numbers together, but this doesn't always work for finding the lowest common multiple
  • The LCM can also be found for three or more numbers by writing out their multiplication tables
  • The LCM is useful for adding or subtracting fractions with different denominators
  • To convert fractions to have the same denominator, multiply the numerator and denominator by the LCM of the denominators
  • The LCM is often used in math problems and is important to know how to find
