  • Inequalities can also be manipulated like equations by multiplying or dividing both sides by the same positive number
  • When multiplying or dividing by a negative number, the inequality sign must be reversed
  • Forgetting to reverse the inequality sign when multiplying or dividing by a negative number is a common source of error
