Multiplying by 0.1
- Multiplying by 0.1 is the same as dividing by 10.
- Multiplying by 0.1 shifts the digits one place to the right.
- Multiplying by 0.01 shifts the digits two places to the right.
- To calculate 1.7 times 0.1, shift the digits one place to the right.
- To calculate 16 times 0.01, shift the digits two places to the right.
- Compare the two values to determine which is larger.
