  • The sign of the result of a multiplication or division depends on the signs of the two original numbers.
  • When multiplying or dividing two numbers with the same sign, the answer will always be positive.
  • When multiplying or dividing two numbers with opposite signs, the answer will always be negative.
  • Positive number times positive number equals positive.
  • Negative number times negative number equals positive.
  • Positive number divided by positive number equals positive.
  • Negative number divided by negative number equals positive.
  • Positive number times negative number equals negative.
