4:35 Understanding Surds
Spec N8 A4
  • Multiplying thirds can result in a third or an integer.
  • Multiplying a third by itself always gives a whole rational number.
  • The square root of a number squared is equal to the number itself.
  • When multiplying surds with coefficients together, multiply the coefficients and the numbers in the roots separately.
  • The product of the coefficients and the product of the numbers in the square root give the final answer.
