Prime Factor Tree
- A prime factor tree is used to find all the prime factors of a whole number
- The prime factorization of a number can be found by multiplying all the prime factors at the ends of the branches
- The order of the prime factors may change, but the factors themselves will always be the same
- It doesn't matter how you start the factor tree, as long as you end up with the correct prime factors
- To find the prime factorization of a number, find factor pairs and continue breaking them down until you reach prime numbers
- Circle the prime factors and write the prime factorization in index form, if necessary
