- A pyramid is a solid shape with triangular faces that meet at a common vertex
- Pyramids are named after the shape of their base
- The base of a pyramid is the shape that doesn't have a vertex at the common meeting point
- Pyramids with regular polygon bases have identical isosceles triangular faces
- A regular tetrahedron has four equilateral triangular faces
- A cone is a solid shape that tapers from a circular base to a point
