Quadrants of a Graph
- Graph axes can be extended to include negative numbers
- The graph divides into four quadrants separated by axes
- Upper right quadrant contains coordinates with positive x and positive y values
- Upper left quadrant contains coordinates with negative x and positive y values
- Bottom left quadrant contains coordinates with negative x and negative y values
- Bottom right quadrant contains coordinates with positive x and negative y values
- To plot a point with negative coordinates, move left on the x axis and down on the y axis
- To find the coordinates of a given point, determine the distance along the x and y axes
