Rounding to Decimal Places

3:10 Rounding
Spec N15
  • Rounding to a decimal place is similar to rounding to a place value
  • To round to a certain decimal place, look at the digit to the right of the decimal place you are rounding to
  • If the digit to the right is 5 or greater, round up. If it is less than 5, round down
  • Example: round 0.15 to 1 decimal place. The digit to round to is 1. The digit to the right is 5, so round up to 0.2
  • Example: round 52.6341 to 2 decimal places. The digit to round to is 3. The digit to the right is 4, so round down to 52.63
