The nth Term
- A sequence is a series of numbers that follows a pattern
- The nth term of a sequence is an algebraic expression that gives the value of a term based on its position
- The nth term can sometimes be determined using a rule involving n
- In some sequences, each term is worked out by squaring its position in the sequence
- The nth term rule allows us to find any term in the sequence without knowing the previous terms
- Not every sequence can be easily described using an nth term rule
- To find a specific term in a sequence, substitute the value of n into the given expression
- Cube numbers are numbers that can be expressed as the cube of an integer
- In a sequence of cube numbers, each term is obtained by cubing one more than its position in the sequence
