Resultant force

  • A resultant force is a single force that has the same effect on an object as the multiple forces acting on it.
  • If two forces are acting in the same direction, then the resultant will be the sum in that direction.
  • If they are acting in opposite directions, then the resultant will be their difference in the direction of the larger force.
