Advanced Rationalising the Denominator
- Rationalizing a denominator with addition or subtraction involves changing the sign when multiplying.
- To rationalize the denominator, multiply by the conjugate of the denominator.
- Use FOIL to expand and simplify the numerator and denominator.
- The terms in the denominator will cancel out when the sign is changed.
- The final answer is obtained by simplifying the fraction.
